Bethany Retirement Community
- Mission Statement -
The Bethany Retirement Community (BRC), a division of Bethany Homes and Methodist
Hospital, is a not-for-profit residential retirement home licensed by the State of
Illinois and the City of Chicago.
Related to the Northern Illinois Conference of The United Methodist Church, BRC values
its Judeo-Christian heritage, believing that all members of its community--including
residents, their families and friends, and staff members--have received a variety of
God-given gifts intended for use in service to others.
With a particular call to care for older adults, BRC maintains the following purposes:
- Provide high-quality living accommodations for older adult residents in a private,
secure, personalized, and home-like environment
- Ensure that programs support the medical, emotional, social, recreational, and spiritual
needs of residents
- Treat all persons--including residents, their families and friends, and staff
members--with dignity and respect
- Offer appropriate opportunities for residents to maintain a rewarding quality of life
- Assist residents unable to live independently with the tasks of daily living
- Support residents, their families and friends, and the community with education about
aging and the needs of older adults
